By the eagerness of their growing minds our vision is enlarged. By their trust we are challenged to be trust- worthy. In their innocence we glimpse the purity of a world that is free from sin and stain. For them and their gifts to us, O Lord, we thank Thee.
Make tender our souls to children everywhere, that in them, too, Thy image may shine brightly. Guard and guide the mothers of every land, that with souls empowered by Thee they may rear their little ones to lives of health and goodness and knowledge of Thee. Enlarge our compassion that none may suffer in hunger and want or be lacking in the love that Jesus came to bring.
May the gladness and good cheer of Christmas go with us all till this good season comes again. Through Him who slept in a manger. Amen.
