A Prayer Hope in the Lord

Where lies our hope, O Lord?

How can this battered world,

noisy,

tired,

and full of fear—

full of anger,

hate,

and all unkindness—

know you, O Lord,

who art Love,

and can be known only by

Love?

Help us to know Thy ways, O God,

and strengthen us with hope

as you make us strong

through faith in your Son.

Set us again on the road

with our hands in Thine.

Give us zest for living

zest for serving

and make us strong

for our hope rests in Thee.
