Celebrating His Birth

No holiday season draws the participation of more people in the Western world than Christmas. Even the non-Christians among us tend to be caught up in the holiday doings, if not in the exchange of gifts, at least in the selling of them. If not in the blessedness of the season, at least in its dark side of drunkenness and depression. It would be hard to live in Europe or America and not be touched by Christmas. Many of us are more than touched by it. We are lifted up and ennobled and warmed by its message of God’s grace and goodness. As you read Senior Editor Gene Shelburne’s devotional essays on the subject, we hope you will join us in “Celebrating His Birth.”
